Not really. This means that you can convert the (small) Perl script to a (large) C program, which will be much more difficult for the recipient. In some paranoid circles, this can be considered an advantage (for example, if your Perl code is embarrassing and you probably hide this fact from your payment customers). But basically it has a negative value.
