Failed to create iTunes-style source list in Cocoa

Question

I am working on software that will work well with the original iTunes style list. I am browsing the net how to implement it, but all the examples seem a bit sketchy.

I found a Mark Alldritt implementation and tried to use it in my project, but it does not display correctly. It seems that the cells are displayed half outside the source list control.

Does anyone have experience creating such a user interface? Can someone point me in the right direction?
