Can I open part of an assembly in the GAC using MEF?

I am just starting to work with MEF and I hope to integrate it with the application I'm working on. I am wondering if it is possible to detect parts in assemblies that are in the GAC in MEF. Essentially, I would like something similar to DirectoryCatalog , but it will be a search in the GAC. Is there anything similar?

I don’t think there is anything like that. I do not think this is a good idea, because it meant loading every assembly in the GAC into your process.

If you do this anyway, the hard part will get a list of assemblies in the GAC . After that, you can simply create an AssemblyCatalog for each of them and place all AssemblyCatalogs in the DirectoryCatalog.
