Deployment Strategies for Web Services

Question

I need to develop a deployment strategy for several versions of JAX-WS Web Services. I am currently watching:

• 1.war for each service and for each version.

This provides maximum flexibility. The outdated old version is simple and also introduces new versions.

• 1.war for the service and several versions.

This means that 1.war is available for all versions in the service. Less flexibility, but changing the share does not mean deploying multiple .wars.

Any ideas?
