How to make the stylus not control the mouse?

I want to separate the position of the stylus from the position of the mouse in a win32 application. I use wintab sdk and I saw articles about distinguishing mousebuttondown / up events from a pen / eraser or mouse. But I could not find anything that allows you to use the stylus as a second device. I want to respond to WT_PACKET events to determine the position of the pen for drawing and use the mouse cursor for other operations.
