Database Synchronization on Two Computers

This is a common scenario. I have 2 laptops (my wife and mine) at home. I have SQL Server 2008 on both machines. Databases are not synchronized with each other.

I am trying to create a small application that will help me manage the passwords of my bank and credit cards. If my wife or I change any account passwords, we update the database. But this causes a headache as the database on my machine goes out of sync with my wife’s machine.

What parameters do I need to synchronize with databases? Will Windows Mesh provide any help? I am a little skeptical as I don’t want to share db files with passwords on a public site.

This might be redundant for such a simple scenario, but it is similar to a replication merge case .

The 2008 edition has something called change tracking, with which you can set up synchronization (using the Sync framework).

You can use this

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=BCE4AD61-5B76-4101-8311-E928E7250B9A&displaylang=en

this can help you set up synchronization directly or with intermediate Sql azure db (mainly sql server in the cloud).

Live Mesh, , , : http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mesh-sync-file-types-ui

, .mdf .ldf , Live Mesh .

EDIT : Apparently, I'm just too impatient. The .mdf and .ldf files completed the synchronization. For some reason, it took some time.
