Safari stuck in an endless loop during testing - anyway?

I hope someone can help me here - I am testing javascript and putting a warning in the while loop to show how some variables are changing, but ... I entered it in the wrong line and now Safari (on Mac) just loops the warning . Is there a way to stop it without forcibly quitting the application (which I don’t want to do, since I have other windows open).

Sorry but no. The only way to get around this is if you could close a specific tab between alerts, but if they appear immediately after you close a field, then you can’t do anything.

I managed to close the tab by clicking "OK" in the message (or by pressing "Enter"), and then immediately clicking Command-W. Note. For the correct timing, it took several attempts.

I was just stuck in an endless loop in Safari 8 (Yosemite). Killing Safari did not help, as the tab opens again when Safari starts up again.

Closed Safari, uninstalled ~/Library/Safari/LastSession.plistand started Safari again. No previous tab is open, the problem is solved!
