The problem occurred when I tried to run the java web application on the server

I use eclipse for java EE since my IDE and tomcat are like my server. Here's the problem:

Several ports (8080, 8009) required by the Tomcat v5.5 server on the local host are already in use. Perhaps the server is running in a different process, or the system process may use the port. To start this server, you need to stop another process or change the port number.

As indicated in the exception, you have an executable Tomcat instance (or, less likely, something else) that accepts ports 8080 and / or 8009. What to do:

  • tomcat, : /etc/init.d/tomcat stop administrative tools > services > apache tomcat > stop shutdown.sh/shutdown.bat
  • , tomcat ( - ps ux nix)
  • ,

  • Choose MyEclipse Tomcat

To ensure that you see these options, make sure you have the latest version of MyEclipse installed.
