You can most likely jump into C # with both legs, if I may say so, if you are already familiar with VB.NET. The two languages are very similar as soon as you go beyond curly braces and other syntactic differences. I learned C # mainly from converting VB.NET projects with some online conversion tools and finding something that I did not immediately understand the relationship between the two languages. If you don’t have anything to convert what you already wrote, use sample code, as you can find on CodeProject or even MSDN . Along the way, you will probably put together a library of neat tricks for use in future applications.
