How do I programmatically access the iPhone trust store?

I need to get certificates from the iOS certificate store (X.509) and be able to read / analyze them to decide whether to trust the server or not. Any idea what APIs should do this?

iOS will do the whole trust assessment for you.

The iOS Certificate, Key, and Trust Services Directory is a good place to start.
