Android LinearLayout does not stretch the entire screen

Question

Hi, I am writing an application for DroidX, which is 480x854. I configured my AVD as follows:

target: API level 7
Skin: 480x854
hw.lcd.density: 160

What is it. The emulator loads fine and looks great, but for some reason my application does not populate_parent. See here:

It does not scale completely, and I'm not sure why. Here is my XML:

this screen resolution will fall to the septa screen size. Enable Large or AnyDensity in supported manifest screens. http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html
