Does Thunderbird always work as a MAPI mail client?

Question

I have an application (which I wrote in Delphi) with the function of formatting and sending emails using the base MAPI OS client. I tested it on four machines, and everything works as expected in 3 out of 4 cases. The main difference that I noticed is working machines, on which Microsoft mail clients are set as default values, and a machine that does not work on standby has Thunderbird for its default mail client .... Something in Thunderbird I don’t do you know Are there any better explanations for what is going on here?
