JSF2 application and Richfaces 3.3.3 for Tomcat 6.0 crash StackOverflowError

I am using JSF 2 and richfaces 3.3.3 for an application hosted on tomcat 6.0.20. The application crashes as soon as the request is executed through the browser (Mozilla and IE).

If I remove all configurations associated with Richfaces, the application works like a charm. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Is there a reason you are using JSF 2 and RichFaces 3.3.3? For JSF 2, you must use RichFaces 4.
