Hex editor that allows me to search for bits and replace them

I found AX, it does it very well, but it’s not free, and I can’t access the website (I would buy it). I can not find any hex editor that is good and free, and really has this feature.

You can use gVim to view the hex dump, replace bits, and save. Since this is vim, you also get all the advanced editing tools.
