Error in Haskell Platform 2010.2.0.0 Cabal

I encountered an error while executing the "Cache Update" command on Haskell Platform 2010.2.0.0. The error message is "cabal: Codec.Compression.Zlib: Incorrect header check." OS version - Windows XP SP3, Cabal version - 0.8.2. Cabal library version is 1.8.0.2. All from the package by default. Any help would be appreciated.

You may find that the problem is in this ticket . We believe the problem is with incorrectly configured HTTP proxies that use transparent decompression. We think we have a fix, so you can try using the latest version of daccs cabal-install and see if this works for you. In any case, add your experience to the ticket so that we can either confirm the correction or find out why it still does not work.

Cabal library 1.10 or later and cabal installation from darcs HEAD already have a fix for this.
