Should I use a lot of ClearCase views? Is this recommended?

The question is quite simple - how much does it cost (storage, etc.) to use new clarity representations for each task? Is using many different views a legal methodology? How do you use views (i.e. why do you have different views)?

In terms of gaps, the cost is mainly:

• files that you get at the 'cleartool update' stage
• in combination with a view repository (metadata for snapshot views, extracted files for dynamic views).

Actual cost comes from the storage location of the view.
