Office ASP.NET MVC

I am working on a .net mvc web application that contains a bunch of web parts on the main page. I understand that the webpage is .net terminology, but was not sure what to name these mini sections. One way or another, while these sections are called when this page is displayed, but in the end I will connect jQuery and call these sections using AJAX. These mini sections or widgets should remain in a state when the user moves between the home page and back. With .net forms, page state information is stored in the view, but with .net mvc, which is not available (fortunately).

So, is there already an existing infrastructure for such functions for MVC? If not, what would be the best way to deal with this situation? I thought to use the HttpContext tool and store everything there, but I'm not sure if this object has size restrictions.

You can use output caching or data caching supported by MVC 1.0 / 2.0.

Not sure after that, but the Orchard project has the concept of widgets: http://www.orchardproject.net/docs/Default.aspx?Page=widgets&NS=&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 .
