Why does FireFox automatically send the first result request to Google?

In FireFox 3.6.1 (new installation), I see a request sent to the first search result (Google) without user intervention.

Why is this?

Some browsers are configured to preload some links on the page to minimize perceived delays. Google really supports that. For example, when I google for "blah", the first result includes this code:

<link rel=prefetch href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blah">

, "" , , ( , ), , .
