Retrieving Entity Data from Autocad

Question

This is a two-part question.

1) Is there a way to get the csv file of all entity data, including xdata, for autocad dwg, either using autocad, or some other method?

2) Is there an easy way to parse an autocad dxf file to get entity data in a csv file?

Unfortunately, none of the approaches provides a simple method, but this is possible with little effort.

With a DWG file, the file itself is binary, so it’s best to write a plugin or script in AutoCAD using .NET or ObjectArx, but this can be a nasty approach. AutoLISP would be simpler, but I don't think you could output it to a file.
