LoadBehavior load for MS Word 2007 set to 2

I have an add-in for MS Word. One of my users who is in Word 2007 reports that the add-in is not loading. When she checks the list of COM add-ins, he says that "Load Behavior" is "Unloaded; Load at Startup" (value 2 in the LoadBehavior registry entry).

However, when it checks the add-in registry entry, LoadBehavior is set to 3 (Loaded; Load at Startup). The add-in also does not load at all.

Is there any reason for the discrepancy between what Word says for the add-in and what is in the registry, and is there a way to solve it?

I have a hunch that Word set the value of LoadBehavior somewhere on its system after the add-in crashed, but it is removed from me and doesn’t want me to remove its computer to check myself.

Change . Additional information: if a user runs a macro to check my add-in Application.COMAddins, is Connectset to False. However, updating this parameter to Trueseems to have no effect. The property will remain True until Word is started, but if Word reboots, it will return to False (and the add-in will never be loaded).

Additional information . The add-in was disabled due to a crash and placed on the list of disabled add-ons. The user included the add-in from the COM add- in drop-down list, but then the download behavior was set to 2, despite the registry value being 3. WinWord.exe does not have a compatibility setting.

In addition, I provide three add-ons: one for Word, one for Excel, and one for PowerPoint. Excel and PowerPoint add-ins work fine on the user's computer. I myself am testing the add-in on XP, Vista and 7 (32 and 64 bit). The user is on Vista 32 bit.

FYI: I had a similar problem with Excel AddIn. Excel is blacklisted by the add-in due to an error (which did not necessarily generate any error message). Go to: AddIns> "Disabled Items"> "Enable Add-on" has changed the problem for me.
