As part of my application that I am creating, I am trying to add a radio channel and the corresponding radio station only transmits the asx / asf stream and does not plan to support anything, so I do not have access to modify any of the source streams.
Obviously, reading ASF stream using libraries by default does not work, since iPhone does not support stream streams naively. However, there are several applications that do this, for example, FStream: http://www.sourcemac.com/?page=fstream
So, does anyone know how to do this?
Another option is to get the server and retransmit the feed in mp3 format. We have a dedicated Windows server, and this option works for us using VLC, except that the VLC has problems with windows and stops after a few days.
So my question is twofold:
Does anyone know any code that allows me to play the ASF stream in my iPhone application?
Does anyone have any better suggestions for a Windows application to reload ASF to mp3 that won't just grow and die after a while?
