Is Lucene.net abandoned?

I am currently testing Lucene.Net and it is ideal for my needs, but I saw this last message on the dev mailing list (no answers) ... Do you think it is unsafe to start development using this library? I thought this was widely used?

As far as I know, Lucene.NET is used for RavenDB, so it should be in pretty good shape.

In addition, it depends on what you mean by “unsafe.” It is difficult to guarantee that any OSS project will never stop, so all of them are inherently “unsafe”. The same is true for commercial projects.
