How to hide a file using adobe AIR?

I use both windows and MAC.there is a file on the desktop. I want it to hide this file when I launch my air application. Please help with some ideas.

I believe you need to pack your own application that does the hiding. See Communicating with native processes in AIR , and Understanding the Adobe AIR Security Model . In addition, there is no guarantee that the file is really hidden. A Windows user could select always hidden files similar to dotfiles on OSX / Linux.
