How to access call logs from J2ME applications?

I looked around and did not find the answer to the above question. Many forums say that this cannot be done on most phones, but most of these entries are from 2006-2007 or more. I hope that over the past few years, J2ME has become better. :)

I think if you like the Symbian OS [and your target OS iw symbian] level of coding, try J2ME JNI.
