Qtbrowserplugin vs flash / silverlight?

Our team is looking for an alternative to ActiveX for our browser-based client. Flash, silverlight, HTML5 are still considered. Since I have some prior Qt experience, I am thinking about offering Qt. From the documentation, it seems that QtBrowserPlugin is req for our purposes. There are three criteria that any alternative must satisfy.

  • Must support IE
  • Performance should not be degraded (unreasonably?) In comparison with current ActiveX
  • Support for other browsers.

Given above

First Q: How Qt Compares to Other Alternatives

Second question: Around 2012, Microsoft will no longer support Active X. Also, support for QtBrowserPlugin for non-Windows operating systems is currently experimental. It is expected that it will be developed in the future to address these issues, that is, whether it can be considered for future development.
