Why doesn't the Extendscript Toolkit stop at breakpoints, why?

Question

I am creating an Illustrator CS5 script using the Extendscript Toolkit.

I set some breakpoints in my code, they appear as red dots next to the line number. But when I run the script, it runs all the way to the end, not stopping, and the breakpoints become dark.

What am I missing here?
