Singular and plural words

I was looking for a specific answer on whether to optimize my pages for a single or multiple version of the target keyword. Let me give an example:

I have a website with computers, and from the homepage I have links for my main categories / keywords:

Processors Motherboard Printers Scanners etc .....

Now with the google adwords tool, I find out that the "Processor" runs much more than the plural version of the "Processors". Now some questions arise to improve my SEO efforts:

  • Should I use a singular version of the keyword?
  • If I use the multiple version, is it optimized for both singular and multiple searches, since the "Processor" is logically contained within the "Processors"?
  • What is the best strategy / practice to solve this problem.

Thanks Rachel

Well, Google and Co. make a distinction between single and multiple forms. You may need to choose the one that is more important to you and optimize it, or make some more efforts to optimize separately for both forms.
