Cross compilation (hand-not-eabi-as error) garbage at the end of the line / "or undefined character

Question

Hi, when I cross-compile startup.s file (arm-none-eabi-as file.s) (* -gcc)

I get some errors on each comment line - garbage at the end of the line, the first unrecognized character /

when I delete // some comment lines that I get errors about undefined characters, even I defined them at the beginning of the file.

Does anyone know what is wrong?
