Hash table. Name history. Why not a HashTable?

we know:

ArrayList;
LinkedList;
TreeMap

and others ... and all names in CamelCase format, but why Hashtable, not Hashtable?

this is an unprincipled question, just interesting :)

Hashtablewas created in Java v1. Agreed naming conventions for collections were later established in Java2 when other classes were published as part of the new Java Collection Framework.

Which btw made it Hashtableobsolete, so it should not be used in new code.
