Use of mobile devices

Where can I find usage statistics for mobile devices and browsers broken down by type over time? From the technical aspect, I would like to support as much as I can in upcoming projects, however it would be useful to determine which devices / browsers are package leaders before I support the ancient garbage.

StatCounter contains one that shows the use of nine mobile browsers.

There is also an interesting map on iCrossing that shows country-based usage.
