Is dbase deprecated? There was a time when it was more visible than SQL, but now it seems to be dying pretty much ...

dBase as a database system seems to have died out now. Own company is still in business , so technically it has not died.

However, dbase formatted (dbf) files are still in use. However, it’s hard for me to justify using dBase for any new development, especially now that there are so many great single-file database solutions like SQLite .

dBase is NOT SHELLED !!

Only if you do not want to work in DOS, you can feel that it is out of date.

Even today we can write one or several table applications in our good old dBase which can successfully work with DMBS for small and medium enterprises.

Generated reports are pure text files that can be deployed to WEB.

Both FRONTEND and BACKEND, together with DML and DDL in one place, are still a great work environment.
