I taught myself how to use jQuery in action . I knew nothing about Javascript, and nothing about jQuery. For a week (about how long it took to read the cover of the book), I was on the run and I never looked back. Once you know the basics, you can learn more about jQuery by looking at the documentation .
Honestly, the best resource I have found for jQuery is StackOverflow. Once you get the pen, start looking at the questions and read both questions and answers. There are certain users who really know their stuff ( Nick Craver ), and following / reading their answers will help a lot. When it is convenient for you, decide the questions yourself, even if you do not immediately know the answer. You will recognize a ton.
