Iphone - Writing a media player with text

I want to write a simple media player that displays the text that is extracted from the Internet.

I know when LyricWiki was such a source, but now it is no more. Is there a new API or text source that I can use? When I receive the text, how do I synchronize them with the song?

I know that the MPMediaItem class has MPMediaItemPropertyLyrics, but this is not enough for me, because it is only for songs from iTunes, and not all of them have lyrics.

I would appreciate any help or links that you can use to sort this issue.

A bit of Google and I found several options that could solve your problem:

  • Firstly, LyricWiki still exists. He switched to lyrics.wikia.com. It seems that their API, however, handles the lyrics due to licensing.
  • LyricsFly
  • ChartLyrics . It looks the most promising for me, although I haven't really tried any services myself (yet).

I would like to hear what works best for you if any of them.
