Should I buy a book on both LaTeX and MetaPost, or just MetaPost?

I feel that LaTeX syntax is pretty easy to use. However, I am starting to include diagrams in my document. I opened the exciting world of MetaPost! The fact is that the MetaPost syntax looks a little more intense than LaTeX ... So I decided to buy a book on it. I wonder if it’s better to buy a generic book that talks about LaTeX (maybe I can learn something) and MetaPost, or should I buy a book that specializes only in MetaPost? Given that a specialized book will be more attractive, I think something introductory might be better.

If it matters, the document is a software specification; therefore, it contains UML and data flow diagrams. Honestly, I’m really wondering if LaTeX is relevant to this question - if so, is there a definitive book for MetaPost?

Udpdate:

I just realized that I involuntarily used MetaUML, not raw MetaPost. Therefore, for those who do not know this, MetaUML is a package for MetaPost. As Little Bobby Tables user pointed out, there is no book for MetaUML.
