Can I deploy a .NET 4 client profile through ClickOnce for non-administrators?

I regularly used Windows Forms applications through ClickOnce , which are installed by users who are not local administrators on their machines. Is there a way to also provide the .NET 4 client profile in the same way?

From what I read, I assume the answer is no. But I also hope that there may be a smart alternative.

No. ClickOnce simply copies and syncs files. Obviously, the .NET Client Profile install is much more than that. In addition, you must be an administrator to install it. I know that I’m not telling you anything that you still don’t know, just confirming :)

The premise is the ClickOnce trap. Always a pain. What environment are you deploying? Intranet captive? If so, you can request a Server Error , which options are available for clicking on the client profile for your users.
