LocalListener Android polling interval

I have a Service that uses LocationListener, and it will work from download for an indefinite period. My question is, how often is it too often to listen to location updates? Is 5 minutes a battery killer? What about 1?

Yes, 5 minutes is a battery killer. I would not use an interval of less than 1 hour. It also depends on the location provider (network or GPS). GPS eats your battery much faster thanks to the network.
