Ask Mercurial to completely forget the file and history.

Question

I am trying to make Mercurial forget the file and the entire history of this file. I keep track of some binaries that have changed a lot, and so my .hg / store / data folder now consists of 660 MB of data, which I don’t want to keep doing.

I considered only the beginning of a new repository, but then I would lose all my code changes, so I rejected this.

You cannot directly change this story. Remember that most version control programs are usually designed specifically to prevent this.
