How to choose ORM

The framework I'm starting to learn supports 2 ORMs out of the box. I do not think that for the purposes of this issue it is important to say which 2 ORMs. My question is more general than this. How do you decide which ORM to go with? I have not used ORM before, but I assume that there is a list of posts that any decent ORM should have, and then a list of pleasant ones, etc.

ORM is like any other software package. You will need to compare several things, this is not all that can and cannot. Think about:

  • Features
  • Documentation
  • Development
  • Speed
  • How the code works
  • Community
  • Support
