I need to determine if there is any user activity in the system (for example, which screen saver) - all from a web browser.
As far as I know, this is not possible to use using pure JavaScript. There is a library for detective idle input in the browser: jquery-idletimer-plugin
For system idle events, I think the ActiveX control or SilverLight.
Has anyone done this before? Any recommendations?
UPDATE . I think a reasonable solution would be for the helper application to run on the user computer and send unused events to the browser. So the new question is how can I send a message to an open browser (based on webkit with an open web application) from a Windows application so that it can be found from JavaScript?
