How can MVVM Light be used in a WPF custom control library project?

Question

In particular, I would like to know how a view model should be bound to a user control. The examples that I have been able to find so far include all WPF Application or WPF Browser Application. Even the templates in the toolbox are designed for WPF Application or WPF Browser Application. I am using Visual Studio 2010.

Found ff. in the comments of the MVVM Light website: http://blog.galasoft.ch/posts/2010/03/whats-new-in-mvvm-light-v3/ . Basically, instead of App.xaml, the model view locator is declared as a resource in a user control. The creator of the framework itself said that I believe that this should be the best approach: D
