Can mongrel be used in production for rubies on rails?

Unlike Webrick, is it possible to use Mongrel in production? I am looking for a small web server for Ruby on Rails, which can be used locally in case of emergency, and all the lines on the main web server on the Internet do not work. I thought I could run it using a batch file like ruby script / server and webrick.

Thanks for any help.

You can also use Passenger to do this, since properly configuring Mongrel is a bit of a fuss. Usually you cannot use a single instance of Mongrel to handle anything other than an extremely light load, so you need to set up some kind of proxy balancer, at least, and from there you will have to monitor Mongrel processes in case anyone dies or gets too bloated and needs to be restarted.

Mongrel can be used in production, but it is much more than that of the Passenger.
