Is Facebook Connect a practical way to import users? How it's done?

These are mainly questions, because I saw that you need to create a new spreadsheet for users who register using "Login using Facebook Connect". Please do not respond to the fb connect developer site, because I was already there, and I already read about the "wonderfully insecure" functions of this API. Apparently, I did not quite understand this. I ask this because I would like to implement this feature in the OpenID provider so that when I log in with my facebook account, it automatically gets OpenID. I know this sounds a bit confusing since both technologies basically do the same with respect to authentication (I'm also not interested in the answer of Fb Connect vs OpenID), but I could really appreciate some help

Facebook Connect is great for lowering the barrier for users - I saw that it really increases the number of users who are authenticated on the site, and also helps to return people to return visits. It gives you some information to import (name, user ID, etc.) and helps to personalize the site a bit. If you need to do this to associate a user with an identifier, you can probably do this either with a user identifier or with a third-party identifier (a completely different parameter) that you will return from the API.
