Is there an API to autocomplete Google Scribe?

Is there a way to use the Google Scribe autocomplete service (in Google Labs) via the api - do you give it a word or words and it completes it?

As far as I know, there is still no official API for Google Scribe. But to play a little, you can use the same API calls as Google Scribe. Just check the AJAX calls that they make during input.

Here is an example call with curl:
