Design 360 degree video viewer

I’m interested in those 360-degree videos that you can find on the Internet (for example, http://www.slopeviews.com/onsnow-beta/ ).

I wonder how it all works, and how you can start implementing this kind of thing.

I made a quick google and found that HTML5 can resolve it for almost all browsers, but maybe one.
