Jqueryui datepicker appears every time the dialog is called

Question

any help is much appreciated. Each time: it $("#myid").dialog()opens, my datepicker also appears, I did not even click on the input field on it. Why is that? tnx in advance.

Is the datepicker element the first tab-able element inside the modal? If so, it automatically focuses, and, unfortunately, there are no options not to autofocus on the open.

The only solutions I can think of are ...

• Put some other element in front of the datepicker that can get focus, or
• datepicker dom ""
