Have there been improvements in debuggers in the last 20 years or so? When I run pdb, I feel like nothing has changed. Am I missing something huge?
What innovations, in particular, have been added to debuggers in recent years?
I think the "debuggers" remained the same. Most just give you information about callstack, threads, locals, globals, and possibly some evaluation of the expression. This feature set is pretty well defined, and it works so that it doesn't change much. This is probably not necessary.
