Determine if a macro is included in a Word document or Excel spreadsheet

When reading a binary file of a Word or Excel document into memory, you can check the data to determine if a macro is embedded in it?

If you set the security level for macros, Excel (and I expect a word) will ask you if you want to run the macro only if there are macros.
