Performance Accelerators for asp.net on a Production Server

I have an asp.net webforms application on a production server and it was very slow. So I decided to get some performance recommendations from my SO users.

I applied them to increase the performance of the asp.net website,

  • Set debug=false

  • Turn offTrace

  • Image caching

           <caching>
            <profiles>
                <add extension=".png" policy="CacheUntilChange" kernelCachePolicy="CacheUntilChange" location="Any" />
                <add extension=".jpg" policy="CacheUntilChange" kernelCachePolicy="CacheUntilChange" location="Any" />
                <add extension=".gif" policy="CacheUntilChange" kernelCachePolicy="CacheUntilChange" location="Any" />
            </profiles>
        </caching>

Any other real performance enhancer you know? Any suggestion...

Is your database suitable for RAM? Can it fit in a ram? If there are no answers to these questions and yes, respectively, buy more bars for the database. This is one of the cheapest ways to make your db faster, without changing the code.
