I am looking for a collection of consistent, cute, system neutral document icons. For example, if you check the entry in the PDF file format or the ZIP file on Wikipedia, you will find the document icon for the corresponding file on the right side. However, these icons are neither free nor consistent. Systems such as OS X, Windows, KDE come with a set of consistent designs, but I assume that they are not free.
It would be nice if I purchased a license for a set of icons. For example, you will find such kits on iStockphoto.com, but usually the kit contains only a very limited number of file types / mime type (e.g. .txt, .html, .css, .pdf, .doc.,. Xls, .ppt, .zip )
The reason I ask is because I want to display such icons in my iPhone application , and iOS itself does not provide these icons. Of course, for this application, icons should follow iOS design guidelines (there is a good article on the icon design philosophy (e.g. viewing angle, etc.) For OS X on Apple OS X HIG ).
