Google App Engine with JRuby - can anyone provide an overview of appengine-jruby, warble, etc.?

I am confused about how to get the JRuby application to launch App Engine.

I know that you can start using appengine-jruby "gem" (Note: I am a Java programmer, so this is completely new to me). I also saw some talk about Warbler , and I get the impression that I could somehow use Warbler with the App Engine.

Why I don’t immerse myself in appengine-jruby right away is that I see some strange things like:

This project uses its own version of jruby, which is packed ("frozen" in Romanian conversation) with other gems.

Some things I've seen about Warbler also make me curious, for example:

Warbler provides a reasonable default set that most Rails applications should allow without external gem dependencies (other than Rails) to build and just work.

I just wonder what are the different ways to get a JRuby app in App Engine. Is there anyone who could explain the big picture?

Now I think I'm just getting started and using the appengine-jruby gem.

Thanks heaps :)

JRuby on the App Engine requires a bunch of special gems. A great getting started guide is HERE .

, . , , :

  • rubygems 1.3.5. , rubygem-update.

  • Gemfile jruby-rack 1.0.5 : gem "jruby-rack", "1.0.5" ( , 1.0.4)

At the moment, the infrastructure is in desperate need of updating to fix several such problems, but, as I understand it, it needs to wait for the package to be updated for the transition.

Do not be afraid to send questions to the mailing list. There are many people who want to help.
